Chapter 10 – The Eye
2 Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.
This kind of verse used to freak me out a little bit to be honest. It just sounds scary… But since seeing Jesus in the sun a couple of years ago, that has opened my mind a bit. And, my eyes. He is part of the sun or rather sits on top of it in this world. And upside down (or right side up depending on how you look at it), is over heaven and able to see all that is happening.
Psalms 34:15 The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.
Matthew 6:22-23 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
This goes back to Peter trying to walk on the water with Jesus. As long as he was looking at Jesus, he could stand on the water with Him. But as soon as he took his eyes off of Him, he began to sink. If you are living with your spiritual eyes open and on Jesus, the waters of this world will not overtake you.
I began seeing visions of an eye staring back at me a few years ago. It was scary at first, but I eventually got used to it. Now, I know that it is the Holy Spirit guiding me. When I don’t see it, I know that I have drifted and taken my eyes off Jesus.
Psalm 32:8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.
I’ve prayed whether to share any of this, because I know how it sounds. But, He wanted me too. Maybe some of you have experienced this as well. I doubt I am the only one.
While I was traveling in Greece, they have the “evil eye” everywhere. It is supposedly a curse from Greek culture passed down many generations. Amulets with it have been found dated over 5,000 years ago. It was believed that if someone was jealous of you, they could curse you with an evil glare. At least, that is what is on the internet now when you look it up.
I remember getting one of these from a friend in my twenties (long time ago), and it was supposed to protect you from evil spirits. That definition is no longer out there. Friends, the internet is wonderful but think how easy it is to manipulate all of the information out there! They can literally rewrite everything.
After the Jesus photo needing to be turned upside down to see Him properly, it started me thinking that this world is indeed upside down. Pretty much everything that is considered good is probably bad and vice versa. Isaiah even prophesied about this.
I don’t really know what else to say about that, I think a picture speaks a thousand words.
I have had personal experience with the spiritual manifestation of the penis side of things as well… It was Thanksgiving and a weird one. Much of my family was out of town and the ones who weren’t, were all the way in another city and there was a bad storm. We weren’t going to have dinner till that night and that would have had me driving late in the worst of the storm. I decided just to skip it (which I will never do again) and hang out at the house.
As I do sometimes, I had a little too much wine. I was probably feeling sorry for myself, spending Thanksgiving alone. (although I made that choice) I turned over in bed and happened to glance at the doorway. There was something. I don’t know if it was a devil or spirit or what, but it had a giant penis. I must have recognized him in my spirit because I wasn’t afraid. I simply turned over and said Lord, get this guy away from me. When I turned back over, he was gone.
It wasn’t a man, and it was really short… It almost looked like a green under armour figure with a giant penis. I know this sounds crazy, but it happened. I can’t fully explain it to you because I don’t completely understand it myself. My hope is that some of you have had similar experiences, and we can give breath to this evil to dispel it.
A note about my spiritual state to have allowed this. Satan and his demons prey on loneliness. The devil wants nothing more than to keep you separated from family and friends to control your mind and spirit. He’s like an abusive husband.
I don’t think there is anything wrong with drinking. But the bible tells us to not be drunk. I cannot cast a stone at that one for sure. Pretty much my whole family has struggled with that at one time or another. But I do know that being drunk gives the devil a foot hold in your mind. They don’t call alcohol spirits for nothing.
Now satan tries to copy everything God does because he wants to be God. I had another experience with an eye, but it was satan in this vision.
This time I was lying in bed and the eye that I described earlier appeared, but it was different. It almost looked like the eye of a reptile staring back at me. But it seemed like it was inside of me like the good eye. This is how good he is at deceiving us.
I started praying and saying silently, “I know that if this is coming from inside me that it is you Lord. So please give me peace, because this is a little scary”. It kept staring at me… I then said out loud, “if this is not from you then I rebuke whoever this is in your name, in JESUS name!”. And with that it withdrew slowly.
The devil is supernatural and powerful. He can put you in a state of wonder or trance that you are not sure what is real and what is not. But he cannot read your thoughts, and God can get rid of him, no problem. Always know that you have that power in Jesus’ name too!
Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
